CECS researchers train teachers from D. Maria II Secondary School

Three researchers of the CECS will conduct two Short Training Actions (STAs) for teachers, in the Braga-Sul Training Centre. The STAs will focus on “Historical Reparations: Destabilizing constructions of the colonial past” and stem from the itinerant training project “The narratives of History and post-coloniality. Myths, concepts and problematics”, coordinated by Vítor de Sousa and Pedro Rodrigues Costa (CECS).

The STAs, to be held on May, 6 and 13, from 6.30 pm to 9 pm, are aimed at the teaching area, i.e., areas of knowledge comprising curricular subjects at various school levels. They will be delivered by researchers Sheila Khan (From invisibility to historical reparation: the duty of memory today), Vítor de Sousa (“Artivism”: contribution to mental decolonization, as an intercultural possibility or vandalism?) and Pedro Rodrigues Costa (Contesting heritages: controversies about processes of cultural decolonization).
