92% of Portuguese journalists assume that they tried to guide citizens towards behavior during the state of emergency, which may have contributed to the successful control of the Covid-19 pandemic in Portugal.
These are the results, still preliminary, of a survey carried out by a group of researchers from the Communication and Society Research Centre of the University of Minho and CINTESIS, applied to 200 journalists, health journalists, editors, coordinators and directors of the media.
This survey is an integral part of a broader research project, which aims to analyze Covid-19’s media coverage by national media. The research team consists of Felisbela Lopes, Rita Araújo, and Alberto Sá (CECS/UMinho) and Olga Magalhães (CINTESIS).
