Patrícia Silveira, Clarisse Pessôa, Diana Pinto, Simone Petrella (all from CECS – University of Minho) and Amália Carvalho have just published an online toolkit for Media Education practices in schools. “Tratar os Media por Tu – Guia prático de Educação para os Media” [Handling wisely with Media – a Practical Media Education Guide], edited by the Portuguese Minister of Education, addresses both children and teachers from early stages of education up to mandatory levels.
According to the responsible of the Education General Direction (DGE), José Vítor Pedroso, this book “seeks to promote strategies and resources in the classrooms, focusing media in the learning processes”.
DGE and CECS have been partners in the publication of several books in the literacy and media field. The latest was “Referencial de Educação para os Media para a Educação Pré-escolar, o Ensino Básico e o Ensino Secundário“, edited by CECS researchers Sara Pereira and Manuel Pinto, as well as with Eduardo Jorge Madureira, Teresa Pombo and Madalena Guedes.
