New PhD in Communication Sciences: Marisa Mourão

On 8 September 2025, at 2 p.m., in the Assembly Hall of the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Minho, the doctoral examinations in Communication Sciences of Marisa Vieira Mourão The thesis, supervised by Sara Pereira, is entitled ‘Media and information literacy in the Portuguese school context: a study of practices and policies in public education institutions’.

The jury, chaired by Felisbela Lopes, was composed of:

– Manuel Joaquim da Silva Pinto, Retired Professor of the Department of Communication Sciences at the University of Minho;
– Sara de Jesus Gomes Pereira, Associate Professor with Aggregation of the Department of Communication Sciences at the University of Minho;
– Paula Cristina do Rosário Lopes, Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences at the Autonomous University of Lisbon;
– Simone Petrella, Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences at the University of Minho and the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences at the Portuguese Catholic University, Braga Regional Centre (FFCS-UCP);
– Teresa Cristina Rebolho Rego de Moraes, Full Professor at the Faculty of Education, University of São Paulo;
– Luís Miguel Gonçalves Pereira, Senior Lecturer in Educational Development, City St George’s, University of London.
