COVID-19 | CECS’ temporary operating mode

Since July, the CECS has provided on-site assistance to researchers, which is subject to prior appointment by e-mail: cecs@ics.uminho.pt.

The University of Minho will be closed between 10 and 21 August. CECS services also resume activity on August 24th.

Summer with Science: two schools, 25 scholarship

Summer with Science: two schools, 25 scholarship

"Africas: mobility, violence, memory and creativity" and "Summer School in Communication and Culture for Development" are the names of the two CECS projects included in the "Summer with Science" program. In operation between July and October, the initiative aims to stimulate the development of "Summer Schools", with integrated initiatives of R&D and higher education in person. In this context, 20 research grants and 5 research initiation grants were awarded to the CECS.

CECS researcher receives new award for thesis on Mental Disability

PhD in Sociology from the University of Minho, Luísa Alexandra Martins Fernandes was one of the winning researchers at the XXIV Prize for Social Sciences, from the Vicente Risco Foundation, as a reflection of the quality of her doctoral research produced at the Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS).
