The Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS) of the University of Minho launched last September 4, the Virtual Museum of Lusophony (MVL) on the Google Arts & Culture platform. The event was attended by the Minister of State and Foreign Affairs, Augusto Santos Silva, UMinho’s rector, Rui Vieira de Castro, Google’s Public Policy Manager, Helena Martins, and the director of the Virtual Museum of Lusophony and the CECS, Moisés de Lemos Martins.

Communitas Debate on Mental Health in Times of Pandemic
Marking World Mental Health Day, October 10, Communitas organizes an online debate to discuss how the pandemic has been reflected in the mental health of the Portuguese. The role of the media in this discussion and whether or not they help to combat social stigmas and perceptions on the topic will be discussed.
Ouvido Crítico back to Antena 1
The Media Education program that brings together Antena 1 and MILObs (Observatory on Media, Information and Literacy), from the Communication and Society Research Centre at the University of Minho, is back on the air Tuesday, October 6, shortly after 3:45 pm. The first programs will address topics such as the Netflix movie Mignonnes, the Attention Economy and the unequal conditions of access to technology during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Virtual Museum of Lusophony launched in Google Arts & Culture
The Visual Museum of Lusophony is available for visitors to access and has 45 virtual multimedia exhibitions, 256 works of art, 112 photographs, 98 radio programs, 19 films and two documentaries about Portuguese-speaking countries. The broadcast of the ceremony is now available on the YouTube channel of the Virtual Museum of Lusophony.

Passeio launched the book Cenas e vistas d’A Brasileira
Passeio - Platform for Urban Art and Culture and one of the intervention projects of the Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS) - launched, on September 25, at the café A Brasileira, the book Cenas e vistas da A Brasileira. Lídia Dias, councillor of Braga City Council, Moisés de Lemos Martins, director of CECS, Helena Pires, one of the authors of the book, Pedro Seromenho, illustrator, and Eduardo Jorge Madureira, journalist, spoke at the launch event.

CECS researcher publishes “DEMOGRAPHY: It’s Time… to give more Time to Natality and Migration Flows”
Focusing his research in the area of demography, focusing on the themes of birth and fertility, Fernando Pereira Cabodeira, who holds a doctorate in Sociology from the University of Minho and has lived in Vila Nova de Cerveira for several years, presents the book DEMOGRAPHY: It's Time… to give more time to Natality and Migration Flows. It is a reflective, analytical and projective publication on demographic issues in Europe, Portugal and, specifically, in Alto Minho, listening to mayors and citizens.
