ClicTour and bYou are the most recent CECS projects.

The first investigates tourism and climate change in protected areas in the North of Portugal and is coordinated by António Vieira. The second works on the experiences and expressions of children and young people on the media and is coordinated by Sara Pereira.

Initiative “7 days with the Media” returns in May

The 9th edition of the “7 Days with the Media” initiative will take place on the 3rd and 9th of May. Started in 2013, the initiative invites all citizens and institutions to create an action (workshop, webinar, video, presentation, podcast, game, etc.) with a focus on the media and its uses.

CLICTOUR: a new CECS research project

CLICTOUR: a new CECS research project

CLICTOUR - Climate change resilient tourism in protected areas of Northern Portugal is the name of the new research project of the Communication and Society Research Centre, in partnership with NIPE - Centre for Research in Economics and Management. Coordinated by Rita Sousa (NIPE) and António Vieira (CECS), the project was approved within the framework of the Structured Projects for R&D&I, of the North 2020 Program.

RLEC: Call for Papers | Inclusion of persons with disabilities. Policies, practices, research and narratives

This issue of the Revista Lusófona de Estudos Culturais/Lusophone Journal of Cultural Studies is structured around the themes identified in the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). The main objective is to improve social awareness about disabilities; remove physical and behavioural barriers; and combat stereotypes and prejudices. In other words, promote the human rights of persons with disabilities, eliminate discrimination and inequalities in participation and access to opportunities in life, improve quality of life and foster full social inclusion.
