Edited by Helena Pires, Zara Pinto-Coelho and Cíntia Sanmartin Fernandes, the volume of the Lusophone Journal of Cultural Studies (RLEC) is entitled “Sentient City – An Atonal Landscape”. Communication and Society was edited by Rodrigo Ribeiro Saturnino, Helena Sousa and Jack Linchuan Qiu and is dedicated to the theme “Digital Platforms in the Connected Economy: Discourse, Control, Consumption and Collaboration”.

Passeio presents COMPRAÇA
On June 17th, Passeio presented the COMPRAÇA. The press conference took place in the facilities of the Public Market of Braga - Praça - and was attended by the coordinators of the project, Helena Pires and Zara Pinto-Coelho, the councillor Olga Pereira, responsible for Municipal Facilities of the city, and Jorge Louro, deputy of the councillor.

The critical itinerary of this cycle departs from the exhibition The Silence of the Earth. It aims to promote extended reflections and an interdisciplinary questioning of the experience of Portugal’s late colonial period, from the perspective of the coexistence of times or intertwined times.
Call for pre-conference ECREA 2020: Workshop on ethics and children’s rights in the digital age
The Children, Youth and Media section, of the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA), invites participation in a workshop dedicated to children's rights and ethical issues raised by research with young people. On 6 September 2021, Eva Lievens (Ghent University) and Elisabeth Staksrud (University of Oslo) will lead the discussions within the pre-conference to which MILObs joins in the local organisation.

Call for research scholarship for PhD student
There is an open call for applications for a research scholarship for a PhD student under the Multi-Annual Funding of the Communication and Society Research Centre 2020-2023 (programmatic funding, reference UIDP/00736/2020), financed by national funds through the Foundation for Science and Technology.

Passeio platform at the Book Fair
On 13 July, at 7 pm, the Passeio platform will be exhibiting at the Braga Book Fair and will present the book Transartes, expanded art and new languages, co-edited by Helena Pires & Zara Pinto Coelho.
CECS and UMinho Editora sign publishing cooperation agreement
The Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS) and UMinho Editora signed a publishing cooperation agreement to promote the dissemination of knowledge based on an open access policy and environmental sustainability.
Vista: permanent call for papers
With a permanent call for papers, Vista accepts proposals for original and unpublished academic papers on topics related to the objectives and scope of the journal, in the form of articles, visual projects, reviews and interviews. Articles can be submitted in English or Portuguese.
