On 20 May, Communitas organised a talk entitled Digital Lives that seeks to ask whether it still makes sense to point out a dichotomy between an offline, real-life and a digital, online life.
Series of talks in the square: “Not everything in the net is fish”
On May 25th, at 2.30 pm, in the Sala-Gallery of Braga Municipal Market, the Series of Conferences in the Square returned. “Not everything that comes to the net is fish” was the theme of this new round of conversations that begins with the participation of Manuela Vaz Velho (IPVC), José Miquelino (former fisherman), Francisco Loureiro (former fisherman), Alberto Paquete (former fisherman) and José Felgueiras (Fishermen’s Association).
CECS researchers’ project awarded
The project "Braga In Time: Mobility(s) and Transport(s) in Braga. Needs and strategies for change", by Márcia Patrícia Barbosa da Silva, under the guidance of Emília Araújo, won first place in the ITBraga - Research, Innovation and Territory Award.

Congress “Digital and Media Literacy: from Research to Education” marks the conclusion of the COMEDIG project
The final congress of the COMEDIG project brings together national and international experts in education and communication, with the aim of promoting knowledge sharing and reflection on the challenges facing education and research, at a time when digital and media literacy is considered an essential condition for the exercise of citizenship. The event, in a face-to-face format, will take place on June 25, between 9 am and 5 pm, at the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Coimbra.
Itinerary of Seminars “Cultures and Work” – Session 4
The fourth session of the Itinerary of Seminars "Cultures and Work" is scheduled for June 15, at 6 pm, with the participation of Orquídea Ribeiro, Daniela Fonseca and Esser Jorge Silva, CECS researchers and professors at the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro. Call for papers: From Post-memory to Reparative Writing and Voice: Contexts, Dialogues, New Horizons
This is the time of dialogue between post-memory, reparation and pedagogy for citizenship rooted in the sense of historical and global fraternity. Aware of this civic duty that requires an active and inclusive citizenship, this thematic issue intends to host works that can critically analyze, map and approach the companionship between memory, post-memory and reparative writing, starting from an interdisciplinary approach.
Vista: permanent call for papers

The Rector of the University of Minho awarded Manuel Pinto, retired Full Professor of the Department of Communication Sciences and researcher at the CECS, the title of Emeritus Professor.
