Communitas’ Debate. Three years of Paris Accord: what changes?
On 12 December, another debate was held by the CECS think tank, Communitas. Three years after the Paris Accord, where is the fight against climate change? This was the theme of the debate with the participation of João Camargo, ICS climate change researcher at the University of Lisbon, Cláudia Pascoal, deputy executive director of the Institute of Science and Innovation for Bio-Sustainability at the University of Minho, and Jorge Leandro Rosa, an integrated researcher at the Institute of Philosophy at the University of Porto. The moderation was in charge of Anabela Carvalho, researcher of the CECS.

Opening of an internacional selection tender procedure for the hiring of 1 doctorate
An international selection tender is open for recruitment in the form of an uncertain term contract concluded under the Labour Code, of 1 doctoral position for the exercise of scientific research activities in the scientific area of Anthropology, Sociology or Cultural Studies [Ref. CTTI-95/18-CECS(1)], co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), through the Operational Programme for Competitiveness and Internationalization (COMPETE 2020), under Portugal 2020, and by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia – FCT I.P.(National Agency for Science and Technology) through national funds, with a view to the development of research activities within the project Festivity, cultural heritage and community sustainability. ”Leisure” does not mean doing nothing
On December 3, at 3:00 a.m., the lecture "Sense of leisure while growing old" was held in the Hall of the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho. Manuel Cuenca Cabeza is the guest speaker.

More than 20 researchers from the Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS) from the University of Minho to Mozambique have contributed to strengthen ties between Portuguese-speaking countries and promote the development of Cultural Studies and Communication Sciences. The "Culture and Tourism" and "Lusocom" congresses were the motto for the presentation of numerous communications, the signing of cooperation protocols, the launch of the new volume of the journal Communication and Society and the conference proceedings of the XII Lusocom Congress, held in 2016 in the city of Praia in Cape Verde, the presentation of the documentary "No trilho de Malangatana", and also to gather for the first time the project team FCT/Aga Khan.

The CECS published a new ebook: ParticipAD - Participatory advertising: a global perspective with a Latin American focus. Coordinated by CECS researcher Ana Duarte Melo and Marcela Duque, this ebook works on the concept of ParticipAD, "a concept based on the participatory and interventionist potential of Advertising".
Presentation of projects in the 4th Conference of the Masters in Communication, Art and Culture
Yesterday, December 3, the IV Jornadas of the Master course in Communication, Art and Culture were held. The purpose of the scientific event was to illustrate, from students' projects and projects, the involvement of the course with the local community and culture.
