The VII Doctoral Conference in Communication and Cultural Studies, organized by the Communication and Society Research Centre of the University of Minho, will take place on October 14 and 16, 2019, at the campus of Gualtar, Braga.
The 7th Doctoral Conference calls doctoral and postdoctoral students in Communication and Cultural Studies to share experiences, questions, advances or results related to their projects.

On June 6, at 11:45 am, at the Carlos Amarante School, the researcher Isabel Macedo will give a session entitled "The Portuguese Dictatorship: Testimony of Political Prisoners in Film 48". To the students will be presented an excerpt from the film 48, by Susana de Sousa Dias, followed by a space for discussion of it.
CECS debate promotes creation of a network of Braga’s associations
On April 30, the day of Associativism, the CECS promoted a debate on Communicating in Associations. With the participation of Civitas, Synergia, Plano i and ASPA, the debate resulted in the project of creating a network of Braga's associations.

On May 4 and 5, students from the Masters in Communication, Art and Culture, from the Masters in Sociology, and from the Doctoral program in Cultural Studies, participated in another edition of the “Spring School” this year, in Melgaço.
Debate about Challenges for the Communication of Science
On 9 May last, the meeting “Challenges for the Communication of Science in the 21st Century” took place. Teresa Firmino, journalist and science editor of the newspaper Público, Helena Machado, a sociologist at the University of Minho and holder of the European Research Council, Óscar Afonso, economist, president of the Observatory of Economics and Fraud Management and researcher at the University of Porto, and Renato Henriques, a geologist at the University of Minho and co-coordinator of the Caminha-Espinho Coastal Program, were invited to discuss the challenges facing the Portuguese Science Communication.
