CECS presented five intervention platforms at FNAC
As part of Science and Technology Week, CECS organized a science café in the FNAC Culture area of Braga Parque shopping. In this activity, CECS presented its five platforms and made known the work of each of them to society. Communication with and for the community is the strategic focus of the Communication and Society Research Centre, which has five intervention platforms: Think Tank Communitas, the MILObs and POLObs Observatories and the cultural platforms: Virtual Museum of Lusophony and Passeio.Ouvido Crítico in November
In November, the program “Ouvido Crítico, produced by the MILObs platform, had two editions dedicated to themes such as technologies in the family context, with Teresa Castro, and the autonomy of children in the city, with Cláudia Silva. The Communication and Society Research Centre is the host institution for three applications approved for funding by FCT, under the competition for stimulating scientific employment in the individual support modality - 2018. The researchers selected in the category of “Junior Reseacher” - Rafaela Granja, Ece Canli and Nicoletta Mandolini - were selected from a total of 2175 candidates. According to the ranking published by FCT, CECS is the research unit that receives the most successful applications in this category, hosting three of the 11 junior researchers funded for the University of Minho.Moisés de Lemos Martins in the direction of AssIbercom
Moisés de Lemos Martins, director of the Communication and Society Research Centre, was elected last week as Secretary General of the Ibero-American Association of Communication Science Researchers (AssIbercom). As part of a team led by Cicília Peruzzo, from Morumbi University, in São Paulo, Moisés de Lemos Martins returns to management roles in the Ibero-American space, after having chaired Confibercom between 2012 and 2015.Seminar on “Crowding and Collaboration Networks for Cultural Economy”

On November 22, took place the 1st Seminar of the Independent Life Support Center (CAVI) of the Independent Life Association (AVI). In response to an old aspiration, the Independent Life Support Model - present in Decree Law 129/2017 - is changing the lives of people with disabilities.
