A session of the Visual Culture Permanent Seminar dedicated to the theme "Cinema and Amazonian Identity" will take place on March 11, at 6 pm, in the ICS Acts Room. The invited speaker is Orange Cavalcante da Silva, professor at the Fogo Consumidor Cinematographic Association.
Intercultural Communication & Visual Culture Meeting on “(Pos)-Colonial Images and Narratives”
The Sopcom Intercultural Communication and Visual Culture Working Groups invite the presentation of communication proposals that seek precisely the critical and counter-hegemonic debate, deconstructing (pos)colonial images and narratives. This is a time of meeting and debate of a multi and interdisciplinary nature, so the submission of proposals is open to researchers from different areas of knowledge and the arts, who work on the themes in question.

"Children, youth and media" is the theme of one of the pre-conferences of ECREA 2020. Scheduled for October 2, 2020, this event will take the form of a workshop on ethics and children's rights in the digital age and is organized by ECREA Children, Youth and Media section.
RLEC: Call for papers on “Colonial, anti-colonial and post-colonial museums, collections and exhibitions”
This issue of the Revista Lusófona de Estudos Culturais / Lusophone Journal of Cultural Studies aims to explore all these dimensions of museums, collections and exhibitions – their representations, narratives and memories, how they intersect with colonial, anti-colonial and post-colonial dimensions, i.e. related to the retrieval, denunciation and representation of the subordinate status, and also with the legitimation of social movements.

Fernando Chagas was invited to the Permanent Seminar on Communication and Culture Policies on “Municipal Systems of Culture. Experiences of Participatory Cultural Policy in Brazil” that took place last February 21st. Fernando Chagas, from Instituto Cultural Abrapalavra, is dedicated to the artistic activities of music, theater and storytelling and also to the study of cultural management and public policies for culture.

On January 28, the Festivity project, from the Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS), received Maria Érica de Oliveira Lima. The researcher from the Federal University of Ceará, in Brazil, participated in the seminar “Communication, popular culture and party: horizons of debate”.
