
Passeio with AcustiCidade
Passeio, a platform that is part of CECS, is joining AcustiCidade next Saturday, 5 July, in the Parretas urbanisation, starting at 16:30. AcustiCidade is a Braga Media Arts programme that proposes a reinterpretation of the city of Braga through its stories and its sound environment. Since 2021, it has brought together artists and thinkers such as Pedro Augusto and Space Transcribers, ondamarela and Pedro Lima, João Catalão and Rita Sampaio, Marta Moreira and Pedro Sousa. Each of these duos created routes characterised by the soundscapes, stories and words of the inhabitants of places such as the Parretas urbanisation, the parish of Merelim São Paio, the Carandá area, Galos e Latinhas or Maximinos.
Webinar ‘Verso e Reverso: Rereading and reinventing the work of Luís de Camões ’

PolObs/MILObs Seminar: ‘Platforms, Mediation and Young People’
Jointly organised by PolObs and MILObs, a seminar on ‘Platforms, Mediation and Young People’ will take place on 12 June at 4pm at the Audiovisual and Multimedia Centre. The event will firstly discuss mediation and the current relationship between producers and consumers. Secondly, we will analyse how young people relate to platforms and what strategies of resistance or conformation they develop. The debate will feature Júlio Arantes, from the Federal University of Alagoas, and Adrian Vásquez, from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. The discussion will be led by Sara Pereira, from the University of Minho, and moderated by Pedro Moura, from the University of Minho.
II PolObs Meeting on Cultural Policies
The Gustavo Pinto Lopes Municipal Library will host the 2nd PolObs Meeting on Cultural Policies on 12 June from 2pm to 5.30pm. The focus will be on ‘Impacts, Indicators, Monitoring and Evaluation of Cultural Policies’, which will be debated on the basis of practical cases such as the implementation of the Torres Novas Municipal Strategic Plan for Culture and the Torres Novas municipality's adherence to the Commitment to Social Impact of Cultural Organisations (CISOC).

Book Launch: “Existir e resistir na sociedade contemporânea. Contributos para o debate sobre comunicação e cultura”
The book "Existir e resistir na sociedade contemporânea. Contributos para o debate sobre comunicação e cultura", was launched on 26 june at the IV Congress of the National Network of Cultural Studies. Published by Húmus, the book was written by Isabel Macedo, Tatiane Oliveira and Moisés de Lemos Martins.
New Doctor in Communciation Sciences: Tatiane Oliveira
Tatiane Rodrigues Carvalho de Oliveira's doctoral dissertation in Communication Sciences took place on 16 June at 2pm in the Sala de Atos of the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Minho. The thesis, supervised by Teresa Augusta Ruão Moisés de Lemos Martins, is entitled ‘The (Re)organisation of Organisational and Strategic Communication in the scenario of new technologies and virtualisation based on participation: a case study of the Virtual Museum of Lusophony’.
New doctor in Communication Sciences: Alice Campos
Maria Alice Campos' doctoral dissertation in Communication Sciences took place on 20 June at 2pm in the Sala de Atos of the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Minho. The thesis, supervised by Helena Sousa, is entitled ‘Disinformation in an electoral context: analysing the main disinformation narratives of the 2022 Brazilian presidential election campaign’.
