Ana Catarina Bessa Rodrigues’ PhD Viva in Communication Sciences took place on 31 January in the Hall of the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Minho, at 2pm.
The thesis, supervised by Zara Pinto Coelho, is entitled ‘Witches, elves and sorceresses: Female representations in fantasy cinema’.
The jury, chaired by Felisbela Lopes, was made up of:
– Maria Zara Simões Pinto Coelho, Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences at the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Minho;
– Mariana Vinagre Liz, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon;
– Silvana Ferreira da Silva Mota Ribeiro, Assistant Professor, Department of Communication Sciences, Institute of Social Sciences, University of Minho;
– Ana Catarina dos Santos Pereira, Assistant Professor in the Arts Department of the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Beira Interior;
– Maria Luísa Peixoto de Magalhães da Graça Branco Gouveia, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University – Braga Regional Centre;
– Nicoletta Mandolini, Integrated Researcher at the Communication and Society Research Centre of the University of Minho.
