Lídia Carvalhaes’ PhD Viva in Cultural Studies took place on April 1st in the Hall of Acts of the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho at 2pm
The thesis, supervised by Helena Pires and Manuel Gama, is entitled “Culture in Brazilian Federal Institutes: implications and possibilities for Sustainable Community Development”.
The jury, chaired by Felisbela Lopes, was made up of:

. Sara Margarida Moreno Pires, Assistant Professor in the Department of Social, Political and Territorial Sciences at the University of Aveiro;
. Carlos Pazos-Justo, Assistant Professor, Department of Romance Studies, School of Letters, Arts and Human Sciences, University of Minho;
. Isabel Moreira Macedo, Assistant Researcher at the Communication and Society Research Center of the University of Minho;
. Manuel Carlos Lobão de Araújo e Gama, Junior Researcher at the Communication and Society Research Center of the University of Minho;
. José Roberto Severino, Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Communication of the Federal University of Bahia, Brazil.
