New Doctor in Geography : Gisely de Campos

Gizely Cesconetto de Campos’ PhD Viva in Human Geography took place on 30 July at 2.30pm in the Conference Room of the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Minho. The thesis, supervised by Ana Francisca de Azevedo e Silva and João Carlos Vicente Sarmento, is entitled ‘The construction of place and the Ó Lhó Lhó Film Club: practices of care, belonging and critical education in Florianópolis (Brazil)’.

The jury, chaired by Paula Remoaldo, was made up of:

João Carlos Vicente Sarmento, Associate Professor of the Department of Geography of the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho;
Maria de Fátima Grilo Velez de Castro, Assistant Professor of the Department of Geography and Tourism of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Coimbra;
Luís Miguel Alves Bessa Moreira, Visiting Professor, Department of Geography, Institute of Social Sciences, University of Minho;
Isabel Moreira Macedo, Assistant Researcher, Centre for Communication and Society Studies, University of Minho;
Iaci d’Assunção Santos, Assistant Professor, School of Architecture and Urbanism, Santa Úrsula University (CAU – USU), Brazil.
