New Phd in Sociology: Cláudia Cunha

Cláudia Filipa Macedo Cunha’s PhD Viva in Sociology took place on 5 February, at 2:30 p.m., in the Assembly Hall of the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Minho. The thesis, supervised by Alice Matos and Roberto Martinez-Pecino, is entitled ‘Social determinants of cognitive function in adults aged 50+: the role of formal social participation and (dis)satisfaction with non-participation’.

The jury, chaired by Ana Paula Marques, was composed of:

– Patrício Costa, Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology and Educational Sciences at the University of Porto;
– Alice Matos, Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the Institute of Social Sciences, University of Minho;
– Rita Ribeiro, Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the Institute of Social Sciences, University of Minho;
– Susana Silva, Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the Institute of Social Sciences, University of Minho;
– Johanna Schouten, Associate Professor with Aggregation from the Department of Sociology at the University of Beira Interior);
– Patrícia Silva, Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo.
