New CECS’ publication: Livro de atas do XII Congresso da Lusocom – Cibercultura, regulação mediática e cooperação

The ebook Livro de atas do XII Congresso da Lusocom – Cibercultura, regulação mediática e cooperação is available in free access, a work coordinated by Madalena Oliveira, CECS’ researcher, and Silvino Lopes Évora.

“For the second time in Africa, the Lusocom Congress – Lusophone Federation of Communication Sciences – registered a total of 226 submissions, distributed by 16 thematic groups. The final program included 118 communications, divided into 27 sessions. The full texts submitted by the authors were not subject to peer review (only the abstracts had been previously evaluated), and therefore, despite the work of editing that aimed essentially to standardize stylistic issues, warning to the reader: that it can be read as the product of an event whose debates did not erase eventual theoretical and epistemological failures of the works presented “, reads in the introduction.

The editors point out that “book-books are, in the current scientific landscape, somehow devalued as a scientific output for the benefit of periodicals more considered in academic curricula. Therefore, this is, in particular, a book that is indebted to the authors’ generosity who agreed to share their research work in this way. ”

“May it be welcomed as one more knot of the net that tightens the ties of affection proper to those who feel at last near” is the wish of Madalena Oliveira and Silvino Lopes Évora.
