The book Os Desafios (Geográficos) da Governação Territorial, by Pedro Chamusca e António Bento-Gonçalves, has just been launched.
The world is made up of change, innovation and response to challenges. Digital, ecological and sustainability transitions, combined with more or less unpredictable global phenomena, make the need and importance of knowledge to support decision-making increasingly evident. Geography takes centre stage in this process. This was the motto for organising a book on the geographical challenges of territorial management, analysing recent developments and the paths towards its full implementation in Portugal.
This work aims to be a tool to support territorial planning and governance, considering the recent social, economic, cultural and environmental dynamics in Portugal, as well as the need for more efficient public policies within the framework of the Recovery and Resilience Plan, Portugal 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
