Passeio, a platform that is part of CECS, is joining AcustiCidade next Saturday, 5 July, in the Parretas urbanisation, starting at 16:30.
AcustiCidade is a Braga Media Arts programme that proposes a reinterpretation of the city of Braga through its stories and its sound environment.
Since 2021, it has brought together artists and thinkers such as Pedro Augusto and Space Transcribers, ondamarela and Pedro Lima, João Catalão and Rita Sampaio, Marta Moreira and Pedro Sousa.
Each of these duos created routes characterised by the soundscapes, stories and words of the inhabitants of places such as the Parretas urbanisation, the parish of Merelim São Paio, the Carandá area, Galos e Latinhas or Maximinos.
In the year of the celebration of the Portuguese Capital of Culture in the city, with a pause in the creation of new routes, we will have a series of conversations that will address themes that are essential to the project: sound and memory, walking as a performative act and the future of urban communities. These sessions, moderated by Passeio – the urban art and culture platform of the Centre for Studies in Communication and Society (CECS) at the University of Minho – aim to deepen the reflection on the role of sound and community experiences in the urban space, contributing to new perspectives on the city and its identities.
The session, which is free to attend, consists of three panels and takes place in the space created by Nuno Melo Sousa for the Forma de Vizinhança festival in the Parretas urbanisation.
