“Research in Environmental Journalism in Brazil: panorama and challenges”, with Eloisa Loose

As part of the Permanent Seminar With and for Society and the Center for Communication, Science and Environment Studies of CECS, a seminar entitled “Research in Environmental Journalism in Brazil: panorama and challenges” will take place on June 20 at 2:00 p.m. by Eloisa Loose.

In this second session of the Permanent Seminar With and For Society, Eloisa presents the scenario of environmental journalism in Brazil in the context of essays and scientific research in the area, based on the studies developed in the last 10 years within the scope of the Environmental Journalism Research Group; highlights the development and trends of research in the area, as well as its gaps and analyzes the results of the last research carried out by the group that starts from the perceptions of journalists covering the environment in Latin America, the Caribbean, Portugal, and Spain, highlighting the challenges of practice and the professionals’ reports on the context of environmental coverage today.

Eloisa Beling Loose is a journalist graduated from the Federal University of Santa Maria, a master in Communication and Information from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), and a Ph.D. in Environment and Development from the Federal University of Paraná, with a Ph.D internship at University of Minho/CECS. She is currently a postdoctoral student of the Post-Graduation Program in Communication at UFRGS.
