CONCILIARE Project and Braga 25 Portuguese Capital of Culture: What do we do with this? Thinking about colonial issues

CECS and the CONCILIARE – Confidently Changing Colonial Heritage project take part in the series of debates entitled “What Do We Do with This? Thinking about Colonial Issues”, which will take place in Braga on 20 and 21 November. The event invites reflection and discussion on colonial legacies and their continuing impact today.
The cycle is part of the Braga’25 – Portuguese Capital of Culture programme and is the result of the project of the same name, which brings together young artists, activists, academics and people with diverse experiences related to colonial issues, all linked to Braga and the history of Portuguese-speaking countries. The group’s work has resulted in multiple artistic productions, including a book with original stories and illustrations created under the guidance of Ondjaki, a collective performance inspired by the book, and an audiovisual art installation by Diogo Gazella Carvalho.
Now, in an intensive two-day programme, this work will be shared with the public, along with a decolonial tour led by Chisoka Simões and a series of debates curated by CONCILIARE, in collaboration with the MigraMediaArts project and CECS/Uminho.
All activities are free, open to the public and take place at gnration. Check out the full programme:
