Television Journalism and Citizenship: challenges of the public digital sphere

Information in television may be a vital tool to understand the public space and how journalism shapes its own vision of the world. In this project, we argue that television has a fundamental social responsability, to promote citizenship values, especially from the audience discussion programmes, where citizens are invited to participate and share their thoughts on the issues raised by the media. This research intends to analyse what kind of commentators are invited for theses formats, as well as questioning the participative tools to interacte with the media in this regard.
