Joel António Lameco’s PhD Viva in Geography will be held on February 28 at the University of Minho’s Institute of Social Sciences, at 2:30 pm.
The thesis, supervised by Maria José Caldeira and Virgínia Barata Teles, is entitled “The Porosity of the Mozambican Land Border – the impact of illegal immigration on border communities and national security. The case of Mozambique’s border with Tanzania”.
The jury, chaired by Paula Remoaldo, is made up of:
– Jorge da Silva Macaísta Malheiros, Associate Professor at the Institute of Geography and
Territorial Planning of the University of Lisbon;
– Flávio Paulo Jorge Nunes, Associate Professor at the Geography Department of the
Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho;
– Paulo Nuno Maia de Sousa Nossa, Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography and
Department of Geography and Tourism of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Coimbra;
– Maria José Boavida Miguel Caldeira, Assistant Professor, Department of Geography
of the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho;
– Luís Miguel Alves Bessa Moreira, Visiting Professor with the rank of Assistant Professor
of the Geography Department of the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho.
