Lídia Carvalhaes’ PhD Viva in Cultural Studies will be held on 1 April at the University of Minho’s Institute of Social Sciences at 2pm.
The thesis, supervised by Helena Pires and Manuel Gama, is entitled ‘Culture in Brazilian Federal Institutes: implications and possibilities for Sustainable Community Development’.
The jury, chaired by Felisbela Lopes, is made up of:

. Isabel Moreira Macedo, Assistant Researcher at the Communication and Society Research Centre of the University of Minho;
. Manuel Carlos Lobão de Araújo e Gama, Junior Researcher at the Communication and Society Research Centre of the University of Minho;
. José Roberto Severino, Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Communication of the Federal University of Bahia, Brazil.
