PhD Viva of Simon Ayogu

Simon Okechukwu Ayogu’s doctoral dissertation in Communication Sciences will be held on 20 January at the University of Minho’s Institute of Social Sciences, at 2.30pm.
The thesis, supervised by professors Luís Cunha and Rita Ribeiro, is entitled ‘Transnational migration and (in)security: Challenges, threats and vulnerabilities of the African immigrants in Portugal’.

The jury, chaired by Helena Machado, is made up of:

– Emília Rodrigues Araújo, Associate Professor, Department of Sociology, Institute of Social Sciences, University of Minho;
– Rita Maria Gonçalves Ribeiro, Associate Professor in the Sociology Department of the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho;
– Carlos Daniel Moreira de Barros, Visiting Professor with the rank of Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Human Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University;
– Thaís França da Silva, Integrated Researcher at the Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology of the University Institute of Lisbon.
