PhD exams of Tomoko Yaginuma

Tomoko Yaginuma’s PhD dissertation in Cultural Studies will take place on September 24 at 10 am.

The thesis, supervised by Rosa Cabecinhas, has the title “Imagining Japan from Far-West: Social Representations of Japan and the Japanese among Portuguese students”.

The jury, chaired by Helena Sousa, is composed of:

– Maria Rosa Soares Pedrosa Cabecinhas, Associate Professor, Department of Communication Sciences, Institute of Social Sciences, University of Minho;

– José Manuel Pereira Azevedo, Associate Professor, Department of Communication and Information Sciences, Faculty of Letters, University of Porto;

– Daniel da Cruz Brandão, Assistant Professor, Department of Communication Sciences, Institute of Social Sciences, University of Minho;

– Mário Manuel Lima Matos, Assistant Professor, Department of German and Slavic Studies, School of Letters, Arts and Human Sciences, University of Minho;

– Paula Alexandra Lobo Martins Ramalhão, Invited Assistant Professor, School of Education, Polytechnic Institute of Viseu;

– Miho Fukagawa, Associate Professor, Organization of Global Affair, Kanazawa University.

The exams will be held through the Zoom platform.
