The mediatization of the “refugee crisis” in the next session of the Permanent Seminar on Communication and Diversity

The next session of the Permanent Seminar on Communication and Diversity will focus on the mediation of the “refugee crisis” and will take place on June 13 at 2.30 pm in the meeting room of the Institute of Social Sciences, University of Minho (Braga).

The session will be featured by Valéria Marcondes, a post-doctoral researcher at the CECS in the field of Cultural Studies and Sociology, who will present a paper about “The ‘Others’ in the Portuguese newspaper Público, the representations of the ‘refugee crisis'”.

The session will include a commentary by Mariana Reis Barbosa, PhD in Psychology of Justice from the University of Minho and member of the PAR-Platform for Support to Refugees.

Vanessa Rodrigues will moderate the seminar. She is a writer, documentarist, journalist, university professor and doctoral student in communication for the development.
