Publication of a new ebook: “Living in the mobility: towards new cultures of time, space and distance”

The eBook “Living in mobility: towards new cultures of time, space and distance” is available in free access, a book that brings together some of the contributions presented at the seminar with the same name, held at the University of Minho, to November 11, 2016, in partnership with the Municipality of Braga.

The book, written by Emília Araújo, Rita Ribeiro, Pedro Andrade, Rosalina Costa, covers topics such as the evolution of the concept of mobility in the field of social theory, tourism and transportation, as well as changes in concepts and uses of time and its influence on the transformation of work and social practices, and the concepts of cybertime and digital nomadism, acceleration and social time, and the construction of identity in transnational mobilities are addressed.

According to the authors, “the study of mobilities challenges our own understanding of the limits of space and time with which we have become accustomed to living”.
