This ebook is the result of research work carried out under the “Disease in News” project, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology, which sought to answer the following questions between 2010 and 2013:
• What do they speak, with whom do they speak, as the Portuguese newspapers of reference speak when they publish news articles on health, particularly on diseases?
• What are the perceptions of the journalists who accompany the health field about the work they do (news values, relation with sources, audience expectations …)?
• How are sources of information organized in the health field?
• What are the sources of health information in journalistic work?
