The III International Course State, Economy and Labour in Health, held in Recife – Brazil (2023), provided an interdisciplinary debate on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic with a particular focus on labour relations and health, resulting in nine unpublished papers included in this book. Of these, five papers refer to the Brazilian reality, with an emphasis on quality of work, mental health and the effects of digital platforms on health. On the Portuguese side, social inequalities, job insecurity and opacity are exposed, as well as the dilemmas faced by interprofessional teams in the health field. This publication contributes to the dissemination of scientific knowledge, with a view to postgraduate students expanding their contributions to the Labour and Health Education research agenda in Brazil and Portugal.
