Fourth session of the Ágora de Cá cycle: Facilitate, pacify, transform?

On June 20, at 6:30 p.m., the fourth session of the Ágora de Cá cycle will take place at zet gallery, as part of the series “What can Art do?”, with the sub-theme “Facilitate, pacify, transform?”.

This debate seeks to explore and discuss the pluralities of meaning, as well as practices, understood in the field of contemporary art mediation, with a particular interest in mediation as a place of symbolic, material and objective struggle. In this vein, we ask: what can artistic mediation do? Facilitate, pacify, transform?

The session will be moderated by Professor Jean Martin Rabot, from the University of Minho, and will feature the prestigious Canadian museologist Jean-Marie Lafortune, professor in the department of media and public communication at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM).

The project is organized by zet gallery in partnership with Passeio, with the support of dstgroup and the Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS) at the University of Minho.
