The first session of the Itinerary of Seminars “Cultures and Work” is scheduled for 18 November at 6 p.m. and will be attended by Ricardo Festi, Isabel Roque and Ana Paula Marques. The session will be held on Zoom.

“Structural precarization and new forms of work organisation in Brazil: a historical perspective” is discussed with Ricardo Festi, Professor of Sociology at the University of Brasilia and followed by Isabel Roque, from the Centre for Social Studies, who will address “The virus of the uberisation of work in Portugal. Trade unionism, control and resistance”. Ana Paula Marques, a researcher at CECS and professor of Sociology at the University of Minho, will be moderating the session.

This itinerary of seminars under the topic Cultures and Work aims to make a tour around universities and R&D centres, revisiting teaching and research centres in social sciences. It will focus on current issues and summon its discussion’s urgency, confronting multidisciplinary perspectives and training areas.

The itinerary is organised by the CECS, with the alternating participation of the University of Minho, the University of Coimbra, the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro and the University of Vigo.
