Seminar: “Scientific associations and science policy”

The October edition of the Permanent Seminar on Science, Communication and Culture Policies is dedicated to the part that scientific associations can play (or not) in the definition of science policies. What are the associations for? How do they relate to the institutions managing scientific work? How relevant are these researchers’ societies for the affirmation of scientific areas?

These are some of the questions that will guide the debate next Thursday, October 28, from 4 p.m. onwards. The guest speaker for this seminar is Ana Delicado, a researcher at the ICS of the University of Lisbon, responsible for developing the project “Scientific Societies in Contemporary Science”, which built a database of Portuguese scientific associations.

The session will be held via Zoom (no registration required).
