Communitas, the Think Tank of the Centre for Communication and Society Studies (CECS) at the University of Minho, in partnership with the PhD programme in Communication and Activism at the Lusófona University – University Centre of Porto, is promoting a debate on the use of Artificial Intelligence in academic writing processes. The event will take place on 23 May at 5 p.m. and will be held exclusively online.
Questions regarding originality, authorship and privacy in relation to the growing use of Artificial Intelligence tools will be raised. The role of academia is to clarify doubts and concerns about ethical issues related to the use of digital tools in an efficient, responsible and fully transparent manner.
The debate will feature Dalila Durães, Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the Department of Informatics of the University of Minho, and Sílvia Araújo, Associate Professor at the Department of Romanic Studies of the University of Minho. The debate will be moderated by Manuel Pita, Assistant Professor of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Complex Systems at CICANT, Lusófona University – Lisbon University Centre.
