Next Tuesday, January 28, the Festivity project, from the Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS), receives Maria Érica de Oliveira Lima. The researcher at the Federal University of Ceará, Brazil will be the guest speaker at the seminar “Communication, popular culture and party: horizons of debate”.
This seminar will take place in the Hall of Acts of the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho, at 3 pm.
Maria Érica de Oliveira Lima is an associate professor in the Journalism course and in the Postgraduate Program in Communication at the Federal University of Ceará. Master in Communication from Universidade Metodista de São Paulo, where she also did a PhD in Communication (2005), with an internship at Universidade Fernando Pessoa, Porto (Portugal). Graduation in Journalism at the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas. She was Visiting Scholar at the University of Texas at Austin, by Teresa Lozano Long Institute Latin America Studies (2012).
Former President (2013-2017) and Adviser of the Network of Studies and Research in Folkcommunication. Coordinator of GP Folkcommunication, Media and Interculturality at Intercom (2018-2020) and Thematic Division 13 – Folkcommunication at the Ibercom Lisboa Congress (2017) and Bogotá (2019).
Develops activity as a researcher in Communication and Journalism, with an emphasis on: Industries and Cultural Studies; Local and regional average; Folkcommunication; Political and Economic Strategies of Media Groups; History and Practices of Journalism.
