On July 3, 4 and 6, the Seminar Equality, Inclusion and Time in (Non) Higher Education. Improving the response to diversity and violence.
Higher education institutions (HEIs) play a key role in generating knowledge that contributes to the implementation of policies and programmes that eradicate violence and prevent and combat discrimination and inequality of any kind.
First and foremost, educational institutions in general and higher education institutions in specific are spaces where diversity of gender, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, physical and functional ability and religion occupy a place of paramount importance. However, we know that barriers to the implementation of practices promoting diversity and eradicating violence from an intersectional perspective in education persist. Even with the anticipation of trends and/or challenges that may change organisations to make them even more equitable, those involved in the transformation process face difficulties in designing, implementing and evaluating the impacts of measures. This means that diversity poses a series of challenges to institutions that involve the creation, implementation and evaluation of policies and actions aimed at achieving equality and inclusion of all people in all institutional spaces and times (management, administration, teaching, research, etc.).
In this context, this seminar aims to generate a space for dialogue and debate from the presentation of organizational management experiences, institutional policies and programmes, intervention projects, transversal teaching or research actions and protocols implemented by educational institutions located in Ibero -America that allow the dissemination of good practices and, at the same time, the identification of challenges, advances or setbacks in universities on equality and inclusion issues.
