On July 3 and 4, the Seminar “Equality, Inclusion, and Time in Higher Education” will be held in the Auditorium of the Education Institute.
We are only seven years away from 2030, and the objective set by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) regarding gender equality and reducing inequalities remains challenging. In this context, institutions of higher education (IHEs) play an essential role in generating knowledge that fosters the identification of problematic nodes that impede the achievement of these specific SDGs, as well as in the implementation of policies and programs that reduce inequalities of all kinds, starting within their own communities. Globally, IHEs are spaces where gender, sexual orientation, ethnic, and religious diversity are central elements in their composition, especially as a result of the whole set of transformations that lead to an increasing internationalisation.
In this context, this Seminar aims to generate a space where close dialogue is established between the Ibero-American, Portuguese, and Spanish-speaking academia so that the discussion and expansion of the theoretical, conceptual, and methodological frameworks of research and intervention on these issues become increasingly feasible, systematised, and disseminated, in such a way that we can share strategies that allow our universities to continue advancing on the path towards equality.
Researchers can participate in one of the following modalities:
1. Presentation in panels or conversations chaired by specialists (by invitation from the Seminar’s Organising Committee).
2. Sending 3 to 5-minute videos that relate to one point of view/experience and that can be publicly shared directly to the organisers’ email address and providing letters authorising their use (life stories, experiences of non-academics of all genders and nationalities) within the framework of the proposed themes.
