The Visual Culture Seminar on “The Ambiguous Code — From What Fashion Says to What Fashion Does” is scheduled for November 3 at 2 pm in the ICS Conference Room. The session will feature Catarina Moura from the University of Beira Interior.
Catarina Moura is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Beira Interior, where she has been the course director of the MA in Branding and Fashion Design since 2019. With a PhD in Communication Sciences focusing on Semiotics and Design, she co-edits Eikon – Revista de Semiótica e Cultura since 2016 and co-organises DESIGNA – International Conference on Design Research (2011-present), along with being actively engaged in other scientific events on Design, Culture, and Fashion. Her work and research interests are primarily focused on Design Theory and Criticism, Semiotics of Image and Artefacts, and Fashion Theory and Culture.
