PolObs Seminar: ‘The invention of the possible: policies, knowledge and cultural practices at school’

The seminar ‘The invention of the possible: policies, knowledge and cultural practices at school’ will be held on 13 August at 3pm as part of the PolObs Culture 2024 Seminar Cycle – Connecting Doctoral Projects with Cultural Policies. The event will be held via Zoom.

This session’s guest is Thaís Vinhas, a doctoral student on the Multidisciplinary Postgraduate Programme in Culture and Society at the Federal University of Bahia. The central aim of her PhD research is to analyse the More Culture in Schools Programme (PMCE) as a strategy for designing the curricularisation of culture in Basic Education, seeking to understand how the programme, through the concepts outlined in its proposal, can contribute to the curricularisation of culture as a systemic action for the insertion of plural and community cultural knowledge in schools.

Thaís Vinhas is an Assistant Professor at the State University of Santa Cruz (UESC), Cultural Consultant for Pontão de Cultura Viola de Bolso (Eunápolis-BA), PhD student in the Multidisciplinary Postgraduate Programme in Culture and Society at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), Master in Culture and Tourism and a graduate in History from the State University of Santa Cruz (UESC), Member of the Territory and Identity in Contemporaneity Research Group (UFBA). She works in the areas of Teacher Training, History Teaching, Cultural Policies, Culture and Education.
