POLObs Seminar: “Cultural Policies in Brazil: from Lula to Bolsonaro”

“Cultural Policies in Brazil: from Lula to Bolsonaro” is the theme of the next Permanent Seminar on Science, Communication and Culture Policies organised by POLObs, taking place on February 24 at 2 pm, streamed on Zoom.

In this session, Alexandre Barbalho, professor at the State University of Ceará (UECE), gives an insight into the cultural policies developed during presidential mandates between 2003 and 2022. 

Alexandre Barbalho is a PhD in Contemporary Communication and Culture from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), with a post-doctoral internship in Communication from the Nova University of Lisbon (UNL). Professor of the Post-Graduate Programmes in Sociology and Public Policies of the State University of Ceará (PPGS/UECE) and the Post-Graduate Programme in Communication of the Federal University of Ceará (PPGCOM/UFC), where he develops research and supervision on cultural and communication policies. He is an author and organiser of several publications on cultural policies. Currently, he is researching the implementation process of the National System of Culture (SNC) in Brazil.
