Doctoral Seminars: Action Research and Ethnographic Method

Another Doctoral Seminar on Communication Sciences and Cultural Studies will be held on March 17. In the morning, at 10 am, in the Sala de Atos of the ICS, Licínio Lima will give the session “Research-action”. In the afternoon, at 2.30 pm, in the same room, Luís Cunha will speak on “Ethnographic Method”.

Licínio Lima is a full Professor of Sociology of Education and Educational Administration at the Department of Social Sciences of Education, Institute of Education of UMinho. Head of the Unit for Adult Education (1984-2004), Director of the Research Centre for Education and Psychology (1994-1997), Head of Department (1998-2004) and Director of the PhD in Education (2011-2013). Guest professor in various universities in Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America. Author of academic works published in nineteen countries and seven languages, including over thirty books.

Luís Cunha is PhD in Anthropology, from the University of Minho, in 2003. He is a Lecturer and Director of the Sociology Department at the UMinho.
His studies focus on social and national identities, frontiers and lusophony. He is also interested in social memories, particularly in the context of multiple crises, financial, political and social.
