The Passeio, an art and urban culture platform of the Communication and Society Research Centre of the University of Minho (CECS/Uminho), organizes a project presentation session and a roundtable with invited guests, on October 6, at 6:00 p.m. Bookstore Centésima Page, in Braga. The initiative is carried out in partnership with the Master of Communication, Art and Culture of Uminho and is part of the program of the 28th edition of the Encounters of Image, the International Festival of Photography and Visual Arts, which this year will have the theme “The Beautiful and the Consolation”.
With the theme “The Intermittent City: aesthetics and politics of everyday life”, the roundtable will be attended by the coordinating researchers of Passeio, Maria da Luz Correia and Helena Pires and the CECS Direction, who will be represented by the Deputy Director of this center, Rita Ribeiro. The conversation also includes the guests Ricardo Campos, anthropologist and author of “Why do we paint the city? An ethnographic approach to urban graffiti “and with Álvaro Domingues, geographer and author of” A rua da estrada”.
This year, the International Photography and Visual Arts Festival takes place between 21 September and 28 October in Braga, Barcelos, Guimarães and Porto.
Passeio is a platform developed within the framework of the CECS intervention strategy, which sets the sights on the city’s streets – in architecture, graffiti, music, urban sports, theater and street entertainment, traditional advertising and window-shopping – trying to think their images, their stories and the technological links that extend them.
