On the eve of the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution, the bYou project and MILObs are discussing freedom with six young people from different parts of the country. In addition to the debate, the session organised as part of the “Tell me about April 25” competition will award the prizes to the six winners, chosen from the 129 submissions of sound and video productions.
On April 24, at 2.30 pm, at the Lúcio Craveiro da Silva Library (Braga), the bYou project and MILObs are organising a free-entry event that celebrates and reflects on freedom with young people. The session begins with staged readings by final-year students from the Communication Sciences degree programme at the University of Minho. This is followed by the debate “Tell me about freedom”, in which Ana B. Pereira (a student at Escola Secundária Vitorino Nemésio, Terceira Island), Catarina Costa (also a student at Escola Secundária Vitorino Nemésio), Diogo Silva (a student at Escola Secundária Carlos Amarante, Braga), Gabriel Antão (who attends Escola Básica da Branca, in Albergaria-a-Velha), Rodrigo Moço (from the same school in Braga) and Sofia Vieira de Araújo (a student at Escola Secundária de Ponte de Lima). The debate will be moderated by Letícia Oliveira (Communication Sciences graduate, UMinho).
The day ends with the awarding of the Surprise Cards, provided by Sonae Sierra, the organisation supporting the competition.
