Session “Rosa Egipcíaca, an African saint in Brazil

The session “Rosa Egipcíaca, an African Saint in Brazil”, with Luiz Mott, from the Federal University of Bahia, will be held on March 23, at 2.30 pm, in room 2.11 of the Pedagogical Complex II (Gualtar).

Luiz Mott has a degree in Social Sciences from the University of São Paulo (1968), a master’s degree in Ethnology from the Universite de Paris IV (Paris-Sorbonne) (1971), and a doctorate in Anthropology from the State University of Campinas (1975). He is currently a retired professor from the Federal University of Bahia. He has experience in Anthropology and History, emphasising the Anthropology of Afro-Brazilian Populations and the History of Religions, working mainly on the following topics: inquisition, homosexuality, AIDS, homophobia and human rights.
