Simon Okechukwu Ayogu’s doctoral exams in Sociology were held on January 20 at the University of Minho’s Institute of Social Sciences, at 2:30 p.m.
The thesis, supervised by professors Luís Cunha and Rita Ribeiro, is entitled “Transnational migration and (in)security: Challenges, threats and vulnerabilities of the African immigrants in Portugal”.
The jury, chaired by Helena Machado, was made up of:
– Emília Rodrigues Araújo, Associate Professor, Department of Sociology, Institute of Social Sciences, University of Minho;
– Rita Maria Gonçalves Ribeiro, Associate Professor at the Sociology Department of the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho;
– Carlos Daniel Moreira de Barros, Visiting Professor with the rank of Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Human Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University;
– Thaís França da Silva, Integrated Researcher at the Center for Research and Studies in Sociology of the University Institute of Lisbon.
