Tertulia on “Communication and Intercultural Mediation”

On 21 March, United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, a meeting will be held entitled “Communication and Intercultural Mediation”, a framework of the Permanent Communication and Diversity Seminar of CECS.

The meeting will be attended by Cristina Milagre, Coordinator of the Center for Intercultural Dialogue of the High Commissariat for Migration, Elisabete Pinto da Costa, Director of the Conflict Mediation Institute (Lusophone University of Porto), and Margarida Morgado, Director of the Interdisciplinary Center Of Languages, Cultures and Education (Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco).

The session will be promoted by Ana Maria Silva and Rosa Cabecinhas, both researchers at the CECS-Communication and Society Research Center.
This session will also present the Project CReE.A – “Construction d’un espace européen de la Médiation pour l’inclusion social” (2016-2019 – European project ERASMUS + EACEA No. 580448-EPP-1-2016-1-FR-EPPKA3- IPI-SOC-IN), which involves the participation of seven European countries: Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal. Ana Maria Silva is a member of the Strategic Committee of the project and coordinates the Portuguese team in which also participates the researcher Rosa Cabecinhas. This project continues the ‘Arlekin project’ with a view to consolidating the training and professionalization of social mediators through European mobility and aims to build a European Area of ​​Mediation for Social Inclusion.
