“Vinte Mil Léguas de Palavras”: CECS researcher’s book launched in Santiago do Cacém

The book “Vinte Mil Léguas de Palavras”, with which the CECS researcher, Luis Cunha, won the 11th edition of the National Short Story Award Manuel de Fonseca 2016, was released on October 21. Under the responsibility of the Municipality of Santiago do Cacém, the publication was presented at the Municipal Library of Santiago do Cacém. On occasion, there was a dramatized reading of some texts from the book.

The work was distinguished by a unanimous decision of the jury that based its choice highlighting “the effectiveness of the structural mechanism adopted, since all stories are exactly with the same size – a thousand words – and the ability to create interesting outcomes to solve the different entanglements, as well as an ever-present and important ability to create fluid reading narratives, despite the language being worked on and two distinct environments produced”.
